General information's about marinas
Mooring Fees in Public Harbours
The local authorities have the right to charge mooring fees on public piers in harbours under municipal authority. The quantity of the fee depends on the size of the yacht and the length of pier it occupies, which means that yachts mooring alongside the pier will pay more than those mooring stern of bows to. The mooring fee is charged for every yacht. The quantity of the fee is determined by the local authority can vary from one harbour to another.
Berth Fees in Marinas
For yacht berths fees are charged in Croatian marinas. They are usually published in the autumn for the following year.
Berth Fees in Bays
The local authorities charge mooring fees for yachts moored in bays in some areas under their authority. Garbage is collected and groceries delivered in some places. Persons who collect mooring fees must identify themselves by producing a printed receipt.
Water and Electricity in Marinas
Water and electricity hook-ups are available in all Croatian Marinas and some harbours on the pontoon-piers.
Water connections are usually 1 inch in diameter. 3rd inch diameter connections are much less common. In the summer months are possible water shortages so most Croatian marinas require yachts to use hoses with taps.
Buying Food
Well suplied supermarkets can be found in all Marinas and harbours. Food prices are comparable to those in Europe. Restaurants can be more expensive on small islandscan be more expensive.
Electricity
In Croatia the current is 220 V AC. Three-pin "Euro-plugs" are used in marinas and public harbours (as well as camping grounds). All yachts may need electricity at the same time so the number of power points sometimes is insufficient for all yachts.
Fuel
Fuel is available on roads and in harbours. All types of petrol, and diesel are available; however, unleaded petrol pumps and less common on piers. The large number of customers may cause queuing and considerable waiting times at petrol stations during the main season especially in the morning hours.
